An envy of another color

1. An envy of another color
There are two Greek words that are translated "envy". One is "zeal" as in "jealous" but implies a competition for the same goal. The other word is only used in the GNT (Greek New Testament) and is what is often called "envy" but without the competition for the same goal.

This other ward is used 2 times in Matthew and Mark in the same context.

It is used 5 times by Paul and 1 time by James and 1 time by Peter. It is sometimes used with the other Greek word for "envy".
