Sons of thunder

Thunder is caused by lightning. This connection was observed but not understood in ancient times.

The ancient Greek word "βροντή" ≈ "thunder" and is from "βρέμω" ≈ "roar, clash, shout" and is onomatopoeic in that it sounds like what it represents. The modern Greek word "βροντή" (vron-TEE) ≈ "thunder".

The ancient Greek word "Βοανεργές" ≈ "Boanerges" is usually translated as "sons of thunder" and appears to come from Aramaic words which are, literally, "sons of rage", transliterated as "beney" and "regaz".

*H1123 בֵּן (bane) : (Aramaic) corresponding to H1121:--child, son, young.

*H7266 רְגַז (reg-az') : (Aramaic) from H7265; violent anger:--rage.

As an additional meaning, in Greek, the sound of the words is that of "cry of energy" or "cry of work".

"βοή" ≈ "shout, cry" which is onomatopoeic.
"ἔργον" ≈ "work, deed".

A "movable nu" would then join the words.
